Thomas Ruff

Born in 1958, he lives and works in Dusseldorf.

He was a student at the Dusseldorf school of fine arts from 1977 to 1985 from where he learned the frontal way to photograph any subject from his teachers Bernd et Hilla Becher. Soon he decided to move away from their Objectivity guidelines by introducing more fictional ways in its work.
