Florian Krewer explores the lives of young men alone or hanging out in indeterminate urban locations, showing them caught in tension and vulnerability. Eluding one-dimensional reading, the characters in Krewer’s paintings seem escaping tense situations by a kind of a levitating gesture and a dynamic placement of the figures on the canvas.
