Nathalie TALEC
Born in 1960, she lives and works in Paris.
Attracted by the poles and lulled by the ancient and modern tales of explorers such as Paul-Emile Victor, Nathalie Talec has been creating since the 1980s a poetically frozen scientific-fictional universe. In search of original purity and fascinated by the action of the cold, she experiments with questions of perception, studies the action of chemical or atmospheric phenomena on the elements and lets narratives unfold through her drawings, photographs, sculptures, installations, videos, performances and sound works.
Her work was exhibited in solo exhibitions in insitutions : EDF Foundation (2019), the FRAC Franche-Comté (2016), the MAC VAL (2009). She has developed a long-term collaboration with Sèvres, City of ceramics and has extended her practice to monumental works in public and private space. She also stand out with her performances and sound works, such as her carte blanche at the entire Louvre museum in 2006, Haute-fidélité, parcours sentimental et musical. Her works can be found in public collections : Centre Pompidou – MNAM (Paris), Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Saint-Etienne), CNAP, Fonds d’art contemporain – Paris Collections, FRAC IDF, Aquitaine, Alsace …).
